Of course there are all kinds of water activities…swimming, riding a banana boat, para-sailing, fishing, sailing.

Or perhaps you are more like me and just enjoy people watching at the beach.DSCF2553a

Or you might enjoy taking an excursion and join the pirates on the Jolly Roger.101-0120_IMG

Would you enjoy exploring the local markets? DSCF9416a

This photo was taken at Lazaro Cardenas Park in El Centro (downtown Puerto Vallarta.)

(And one of those delightful hand sewn  animals now resides with me…and is making strides in adjusting to a much colder climate.)

Keep on alert for local wild life. They are rather difficult to spot!

Thinking about animals…you might enjoy the circus which often comes to town.

Note: This possibility may change as Puerto Vallarta’s city council recently passed a by-law that prohibits the city from approving licences to establishments that use animal performances.

During the Christmas season you could take a stroll along the Malecon to enjoy the numerous sand sculptures found there.DSCF5902a

Or consider timing your walks downtown to coincide with musical performances at Lazaro Cardenas Park (Friday evenings) , or the amphitheatre in front of the arches near City Hall, or the performances in the gazebo across from City Hall.

If you have never gone on the Rhythms of the Night tour, you must go at least once. It involves a boat ride across the bay (complete with on-board entertainment by the crew). Arriving at the venue you are in for a world class experience.DSCF3391a

And no matter where you stay in the area, turn your eyes skyward at nightfall. Fireworks are on display frequently. DSCF2520a

Note: If you happen be in Puerto Vallarta on New Years Eve…well, the fireworks show that night goes from on end of the bay to the other at midnight.

But I have run out of space to share the best…Mexican fiestas!
