ANSWER: The memorial is along the Cabot Trail in the province of Nova Scotia, Canada.
The Cabot Trail, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia is indeed a beautiful place.

The maple leaf at the top of the memorial is found on the Canadian flag, and also is on the grave markers of fallen soldiers buried overseas.
