Hungry?

Mais, oui!

After a day of touring Fort Louisbourg you must be starving!

So let’s head down toe the Hotel de le Marine here in the fort and see what is on the menu.

We have our “bib” (don’t worry, everyone wears one!)

and our only utensil. What!!

While waiting for our meal to be prepared we can gaze out the window

and contemplate the political situation between England and France (after all it was notĀ that long ago the Treaty of Utretcht was signed), the state of the fishing industry, the latest ships to dock in the harbour and the multinational sailors arriving on them.

(Our waitress is more than happy to join in our discussions…feisty lady she is!)

Aside: We are eating a lower class meal. The governor and guests eating up at his apartments likely are eatingĀ a bit fancier.

Here comes our first course…

Then the main courses

Dessert? Of course!

Delicious…and we ate it all with only one utensil!
